Webinar: ComposicaD-ESAComp solution for composite pressure vessel simulation


   The ESAComp structural analysis follows the winding simulation performed by ComposicaD. The analysis results, such as layer stresses, stains and failure margins, can be shown as contours over the pressure vessel geometry and further studied as through-the-thickness charts.
An analysis module for composite overwrapped pressure vessels (COPV) is one of the recent additions in ESAComp software. The new module utilizes input from ComposicaD filament winding process simulation tool by Seifert and Skinner & Associates. ESAComp adds the structural simulation capability in the design process. The combination of ComposicaD and ESAComp provides an efficient and economical way for reliable process and design simulation, design verification and manufacturing.

In this webinar Michael Skinner (Seifert and Skinner & Associates) will demonstrate how to build a pressure vessel in ComposicaD, from the preliminary design to the construction of the laminate and the export to ESAComp. The subsequent simulation work-flow in ESAComp is illustrated by Harri Katajisto (Componeering), including material data definition, analysis settings and post-processing. A design modification is introduced and the process is re-run to demonstrate the responsiveness of the tool set.
